We used to throw pies, now we just throw shade
Rotten vegetables and eggs too
I would but I do not enjoy being shot
Honestly it’s only bad once the shock were off and you don’t have more pain meds because insurance denied you getting more. Being stabbed is worse, unless it hits something major enough to cause shock in the first place. Then insurance will only approve mild localized anesthesia to fix it and ibuprofen but as long as you don’t have to move, breath, or otherwise exist as a person, you’re good!
Guess which country I’m from…
Nah, I’ve been stabbed and shot. Getting shot was way worse.
I was stabbed while fighting some white supes who were trying to take over a bar. My buddy was working as a bouncer so we were there to hang out. It was winter so we all had big puffy coats on while we hung out at the front of the bar. He had some skinheads show up and try to get in. He started to bounce them, they pushed back, and suddenly they realized that everyone outside of the bar were his friends. We got into a tussle, and the six of us kicked the shit out of the five of them.
But afterwards, when the ambulances were parked outside, my buddy was like “hey uhh… You should go talk to the EMTs now.” I had a pocket knife sticking out of my shoulder, punched through my coat. I casually strolled over and was like “hey, is this… A problem?” Two of the EMTs immediately broke away from two of the skinheads to work on me instead. It sucked after, for sure. But at the time, I didn’t really feel it. My biggest concern in the moment was the fact that they cut my favorite coat to get it off of me. Having my arm in a sling was honestly the worst part about it, because it was on my good side. So I had to learn to do a lot of stuff with my bad hand, because my good arm was strapped to my torso.
Then I got shot (in the ass cheek, of all places) while being mugged outside of a music festival. I don’t even think he meant to shoot me; I think he was just an idiot. I remember the gun going off as my back was half-turned to him, (which is how he hit my ass cheek) then him cursing and taking off in the opposite direction. That one felt like a white-hot muscle cramp. Like the worst muscle cramp you’ve ever had, combined with a super over-exerted muscle burn like you just did a massive workout. Ever had a kidney stone? Sort of like that. Docs said I was lucky he didn’t hit my hip bone, because that would have been crippling at least, potentially even fatal. I still have a massive scar on my ass from where it tracked all the way across my ass.
Given, the adrenaline probably played a large part in why I didn’t feel the knife. But I had plenty of adrenaline while being mugged too, and I sure as shit felt that bullet. But yeah, insurance denying meds is definitely an issue. For my gunshot, they refused my pain meds. So I suffered through that entire recovery period with just ibuprofen, Tylenol, and weed.
You were lucky knife got stuck in and nobody tried to pull it off before you got the medical attention. The biggest risk is not the pain, it’s loss of blood. Which happens to get worse when you pull it off.
I’ve been stabbed clean through my left hand, and shot in the side.
Drunk “friend” thinking they’re funny, and driving through Columbus and got hit by a stray through my car door.
The stabbing was worse in terms of short term pain, but was way quicker to heal.
Cops and secret service don’t just shoot you once in the leg dude, they unload the clip center mass until you’re dead
(it’s a mostly joking comment, don’t take it so seriously)

Now i’ll have to rewatch that '88 jewel of a movie.
There’s a game now also
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_Klowns_from_Outer_Space:_The_Game
Without exaggeration, doing this now (depending on the person) would risk life imprisonment for bioweaponry terrorism, or just getting shot
Because we stopped doing shit like this and gave in to bullshit civility politics. That shit only benefits the fascists.
Because we stopped doing shit like this
Did we? Or was this always a rare and remarkable incident, both in that it happened at all and it was captured and preserved for us to talk about today.
Certainly, you can talk about the no less than three different Trump assassination attempts. Or the Luigi Mangione shooting. Or the fatal stabbing of Bob Lee, CPO of Cashapp. Or the assault of Bryan Kobel, CEO of TC BioPharm, after a dispute with his Uber driver. Or the vigilante attack on Paul Pelosi. Or the Doohickey assassination of Shinzo Abe. Or the Charlie Kirk assassination. Or just run the numbers annually for violence targeting C-level officials
This study analyzes 424 open source reported incidents targeting senior private-sector executives between 2003 and late 2025, highlighting a sustained and accelerating rise in both physical and cyber threats. Physical attacks dominate (85%), and one-third of all incidents resulted in injury or death. Incident frequency has surged since 2023, with 2025 already doubling 2024 totals by October, marking the highest level on record. Targeting increasingly occurs at workplaces and residences, with protest-driven activity driving growth at public events.
But I’m not seeing any evidence to suggest we “stopped” doing any of this. On the contrary, it looks like we’ve got a rising tide of stochastic violence, both from within the state itself and against state and private leadership.
Interesting points. Don’t know if I recall all those offhand. But the Cashapp guy for instance, that was a fight between two people of essentially the same class over some family / dating / cocaine issue. That doesn’t really fit the pattern we’re talking about here.
Bruh I’m just talking about throwing pies in assholes’ faces I don’t need all this jeez louise
Great research and insight thank you
Without exaggeration, doing it back then risked much the same.
These were brave acts then. They’d be brave acts now.
Yup.
What changed is not the risk, just how we perceive it. Not long ago living under fascism was literally considered a worse fate than death
I mean, there are face tracking cameras everywhere and everyone has a camera in their pocket. Being anonymous is very difficult
Easily get shot these days. Most of the big names are surrounded by exSF who are carrying far more firepower in their briefcases than any one of us can ever purchase.
Most of the time they are even carrying firearms that are illegal or never properly gone through NFA. A few rappers and their bodyguard occasionally get a weapons charge but you never see Musks or Fuckerberg get in trouble.
I seem to recall some video of Musk going through security at a courthouse, and hoping he would slip up with a gun or a bag of cocaine. I’m sure nothing would have happened to him.
Is that because modern food is so unhealthy?
What happened to the dude who shot syringes of his piss at Ilhan Omar?
Aka a literal biological attack?
Ooh did you say this is how to get… Into a tickle fight?
Yeah, pretty much. A large part of what made the face-pie so effective was simply the “we can still touch you” reminder. It’s a powerful message, because it reminds them that their bodyguards only need to fail once. It’s the old “you need to protect yourself every time, we only need to touch you once” thing. Which is why they’ve captured the courts and police, to deter attacks even when they aren’t under constant protection.
I remember a few years ago, there was a big to-do about people throwing paint on their yachts lol. Even that was enough to scare them.
If they want to charge people with bioterrorism over pies, then the pie throwers might start throwing brick pies given they will face similar charges.
I think the natural conclusion is if you’re going to charge someone with bioterrorism for throwing a pie on you then they might just throw acid on you instead, as both lead to the same outcome.
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
You do something like that today they’ll try to put you away for 30 years on terrorism charges.
Fucking Andy Ngo and his milkshake whining. “It had concrete in it!” No it didn’t, what would that even do? It was liquid. You’re just a baby.
Someone chucked a milkshake at Nigel Farage a couple of years ago and got a 13-week suspended jail sentence for assault. Along with endless pearl-clutching from the right and Farage talking about how distressed he was.
Which is funny when you compared it to back in the 90s when someone threw an egg at John Prescott and he immediately punched them in the face lol.
A suspended sentence is just the ultimate slap on the wrist tho.
It’s basically saying “Yeah you did a bad thing, just stay out of trouble for a few months and we’ll call it even, k?”
I hate throwing valuable food to the walking undergrowth.
Use spoiled food!
Just fill a pie crust with turds.
Rotten tomatoes are a classic. Perfect size for throwing.
To everyone in this thread saying “I’d never do that, I don’t want to get shot”

Fitting, because pies in the face is the territory of clowns. 🤡
Remember when we used to hang or behead powerful people we didn’t like? Yeah, that wasn’t just one time in France either.
Cinderblocks would be more effective (for legal reasons this is a joke)
Powerful people?

We use milkshakes in the UK
We need splurge guns for this fight
Creampie your fascist billionaires and politicians.
…wait a moment, not like that…
Yes. Like that
