Mitch “The Bitch” McConnell is a traitor who made a career out of obstructing progress for the American people. It’s no surprise that he’s chosen to continue obstructing progress as his final act.

It can’t come soon enough. Not that the treasonous Republican party is going to offer anyone better to fill his position.

My question is simple if the august 3rd? deadline is reached and then they announce he is deceased and has been what recourse do we have? The reason i understand they have not announced it is to prevent maisie from running in a special election. I do believe mcconell is likely passed or fully unresponsive.

Isn’t there only a week left until it’s too late for a special election? If the Republicans are covering up his death they’re not going to give in when they’re so close.

Exactly. Play dirty and create a nasty constitutional crisis. Worse case scenario is that the fucker is still alive. Best, it exposes the GOP that will puppeteer a corpse not to lose power.

Yeah exactly - and this letter shows that the governor isn’t going to do anything about it.

He’s “insisting” that Thune begins the process to consider the seat vacant if McConnell can’t serve. “Pwetty pwease can you declare a vacancy? If not I’ll be so sad.”

      Good luck with that…

If there’s a vacancy he can make an appointment, but it’s hard to say what would happen. The Kentucky constitution allows the governor to fill the vacancy, but the Republican legislature passed a law 2 years ago (for this exact scenerio with Mitch) that said they would need a special election.

In a sane world, the law would be found unconstitutional and the governor would be able to ignore it and fill the vacancy with whoever he chooses. But who knows how that would play out in the world we live in.

While the language in Beshear’s letter is strong, it likely won’t do anything. McConnell, like every member of Congress, can essentially go on paid medical leave for as long as he wants. The fact that our elected officials don’t really have to prove that they can walk, talk, and think coherently—while we still pay them—is disgraceful. Maybe Beshear should just pay McConnell a visit himself, and bring a camera crew with him.

Even the article says this is likely to not do anything. Its time for the people of Kentucky to burst into every hospital with their cameras ready. Demand they see their senator is cognizant.

This is just the bare minimum that should have been demanded weeks ago and honestly he should have just started the appointment process by now, assumed he’s in a Weekend at Bernie’s situation, played the Republican lowball game and let the political chips fall where they may.

I think voting can be powerful and have positive effects, but voting doesn’t happen that often, there often aren’t good candidates on the ballot, and politicians tend to gradually change once they get into office.

Hospital staff inappropriately accessing a patient’s medical record would violate both HIPAA and the HiTech act. That person could face civil and criminal liability for such an act.

This is why the left fucking suck and MAGA is dominating.

Who fucking cares about HIPAA. Cry about it. Thanks for stopping by to announce you know the rules. Rules don’t matter anymore. Which is why i said give the person a good million like MAGA did for people who yell racial slurs at kids.

Now if you don’t think the left can do the stuff the right is able to, maybe they’re not the dumb ones.

Right like how the fucking hell do you all have the energy to Naruto run area 51, scientology buildings, get dressed up in costume to get shot by ICE, show up in the millions to protest in cities world wide yet I’m the crazy one for thinking maybe bite off a challenge that has a real goal. One that like is attainable. He’s at the hospital. Once proof exist that cat isn’t going back in the bag. So why such a push online from randoms who will convince people to go protest and get arrested but not have fun with this one.

I seriously believe online discourse is heavily influenced by bots that act like sheep herders

I think that you’ve got a lot of brainwashed people - MAGA/DSA come to mind. I don’t think that brainwashing just goes away, even if they diverge from the ‘mainstream’.

I, for one, think you’re right. Hell, you could probably just use a drone to skip all the dangerous bits. Either way, the action will have consequences - honestly it could be good or bad but hopefully good.

So we’re calling mildly worded letters an order now? He’s doing the same bullshit everyone else does. Every week that gets added to this he writes another letter. MF the deadline for the election is next week.

For context Senator Ben Lujan from New Mexico got BRAIN SURGERY after a STROKE. He returned to work after a little over a month. He took less time off than McConnell has had for what is allegedly only a minor case of Pneumonia.

Why does Trump get carté blanché but when it’s anyone else they just throw their hands in the air. Beshear needs to just hold the special election. Watch how fast they provide information.
