I firmly believe everyone who believes the lie has never had a pet. I’ve seen my cat fall off the ottoman while running around and then immediately just sit and bathe enough to believe that’s what Hasan’s dog did. People say if it’s an energetic puppy but then lays there and I’m like, yeah? You play with the puppies until they collapse so you can have some peace and quiet and they’re happy napping.

          Vaush

The guy who is self-admittedly into bestiality and loli porn? That guy?

          Gross.

While reacting to a video by Jubilee regarding rape culture, Vaush claimed that Rape Culture exists, that every woman he knows has been sexually assaulted and that reports of sexual assault are not being taken seriously. In the next ten seconds, Sydney Watson talks about her sexual assault story and that the perpetrator was non-white, of a certain religion, and did not get charged due to Cultural Differences. Ian then screamed, “Bullshit!” and accused her of using her trauma to perpetuate the “rapefugee” narrative. The clip was shared to Twitter by Sydney’s friend Brittany Pettibone, and it went viral. Sydney responded to him in Isaac Butterfield’s response video to him.[19][20]

Ian Kochinski is often accused of being a pedophile. The most common claim rose from a statement that he made about Child Pornography and Child Slavery, where he compared the exploitation of child slavery under capitalism in third-world countries to child pornography, to emphasize the double-standard in where we are easy to condemn child sexual exploitation but turn a blind eye to child labor exploitation, to illustrate how society is far more accepting of child exploitation which is economically beneficial.[12]

In a hypothetical explaining why rule utilitarianism condemns pedophilia, Vaush said: “it is possible for an adult and a child sexual relationship and for it to have positive outcomes on the child as well. That is possible, however (…)” [13]. Vaush has stated that, if economic inequalities are mended under communism, that it could be justifiable to lower the age of consent to 16, like in the UK. [14] In addition, Vaush has stated that he supports child sexual abuse material in that it is not immoral.[15] On 11 June 2023, Twitter user @Marxist777 make a thread, accusing Vaush being a pedophile. He made a response denying the allegations to this 2 days later.[16]

He was also caught with AI generated CP on his computer [17]

Discord discord messages from 2019 were found of Vaush talking about his desire to have sex with horses.[23] In February of 2024, Vaush accidentally opened his porn folder while on stream. He quickly closed it, but the screenshots were shared on X/Twitter and led to ridicule, due to the content of the porn, which included bestiality involving a horse, as well as 2 pieces of Lolicon pornography, which Vaush had previously denounced.[24]

He’s not a particularly well-known figure outside of streaming platforms, but I’ll quote a previous post I wrote to give an attempt at a rounded impression of him. It’s from another thread so there’s some parts of it that might look a bit less relevant to this one, but here it is:

"I think everyone who knows some about him will have an opinion on him - I’d call him divisive. I’ll try to give a relatively neutral rundown - I’m not a historian or researcher on this subject so my knowledge is likely to have holes.

I don’t have time to treat this like a dissertation or adding citations, but I’ll try to present things as neutrally as I can and then you (or anyone else reading) can decide to further research any of the points as you see fit. I am not the final authority on this, just someone who’s dug a little more into this than the average person, and who has no strong feelings for or against the person in question.

He is a political twitch streamer. He ties himself to, and uses the language of, the far left and related candidates. He backs and campaigns for progressive candidates which often raises awareness and donation for them, but the effect seems to be limited - some candidates he backs does well and others do not. He also seems to make plenty of statements that directly contradicts the candidates he backs and campaign for, causing some of them to try to distance themselves from him.

He appears to be well-versed in U.S. electoral politics, media framing, and progressive political arguments, which tracks with his bachelor’s degree in political science and communication studies from Rutgers from 2013. Being a streamer he ends up talking about a lot of related subjects, in which he often has to give off-the-cuff opinions and takes, which can often fall well-short of informed or accurate.

He says his end goal is communism. He got his start as a content creator in his uncle’s online news channel (The Young Turks), before later splitting off from them and doing his own streaming business. He is from a very affluent family, personally earns a lot of money and he clearly lives an affluent lifestyle. He claims to thrift for designer clothes but when pressed appears to reference outlet stores and similar. Initially he claimed that he doesn’t want his regular thrift stores to get raided by fans, although his fans might be less affluent than him and therefore better served by access to these stores. He has done several very successful charity streams that amassed large amounts of money for good causes. He claims to donate great amounts of money to charities, although the amount of donated money that can be tied to him is very low for his level of wealth, somewhere between 77.000 - 80.000 USD total (0,5-1%) of his estimated wealth, which is 8-14 million USD. While he does not appear to put his money where his mouth is, he does spend some of his time on popular fundraising, which drives a lot of attention to both him and the causes he fund-raise for.

He is often abrasive in his communication, although he will excuse that with passion for the subjects he talk about. He has a large audience that aggressively attacks dissenters or people Hassan expresses dislike for or disagreement with. The harassment from his fan base appears to be significantly above and beyond the norm for the space, and while he comments to the contrary it would be hard to believe that he is unaware of the dynamic between him and his fan base. From what I can tell he has taken no steps towards solving this dynamic beyond disavowing some instances of the harassment, while condoning other instances. He does not appear to have a problem with lying about people or broadcasting random people (even known malicious actors, that he himself states to be malicious) on twitter or twitch if it fits his narrative.

He often breaks the rules of his streaming platform (twitch) but receives special treatment, although I am unsure if that is due to personal popularity or personal relationships with the owner of twitch.

He denies using a shock collar on his dog, but looking at the evidence gathered through old videos, still frames from new videos, and from people who personally interacted with the dog would suggest that to be a lie. I do not know if he still uses a shock collar on his dog since the latest controversy.

As said, feel free to research each of these points, but do be critical of the sources of information and try to just find the actual evidence of what was done or said, rather than peoples’ conclusions. He is divisive so when people give their take they usually either dismiss all the criticism and focus on the things he does well, or dismiss the things he does well and focus on the criticism.

Find all the evidence you can and make up your own mind."

Now, as for this case it looks like Hasan Piker is substantially more correct than Scott Jennings. Snopes did a good write up of the evidence, so I’d recommend looking at that directly, if you care about the issue.

They don’t work because shock collars need to make skin contact and Kaya’s fur is incredibly thick around her neck because of the mix of breeds she is.

That you think Hasan is being propped up by the CCP is telling.

That is untrue. If the shock collar has the wrong types of prongs or if it is poorly fitted, it might not reach the skin well enough to make constant contact meaning that at some presses it wouldn’t work very well, but you can get models that will make contact even with thick fur.

You can’t simply dismiss the point without willfully, or otherwise, ignoring how shock collars do and do not work.

Now, based on the video where Hasan Piker gave us the best look at the shock collar, the best match would be the Educator RX-090, as confirmed by their own support team. Feel free to check this link, scrolling down to the section named “What the manufacturer’s support says”. The whole article gives a decent rundown of the evidence as well, but it’s a longer read.

This particular model might be an “extra poor” choice for Kaya given that Tibetan Mastiffs do tend to have doublecoated furs with a thick, whooly undercoat, but that is a common mistake people make when buying shock collars.

I am in 100% agreement with you and I’ve argued with this Velma user over this before, and despite Piker changing his story, denying using an electronic device initially but then later changing that to saying it was a vibration collar, leaving aside his obvious moment of rage in the original video – you can just tell he’s a vain, narcissistic piece of shit who may or may not be heavily astroturfed by the CCP.

It’s so obvious Piker is a piece of shit. The left needs better role-models.

I’m not really going to speak to vanity or narcissism - I’m not sure I know where to begin validating that, or what my standard of evidence would have to be for that, especially for someone like Hasan who spends so much of his time in front of a live audience.

The shock collar however does seem very well-documented, or at least as well-documented as it gets without Piker himself coming out and fully admitting to it.

I don’t know why that one is so hard to accept for someone who is a fan of him. I don’t understand why we should only acknowledge the good people do, and not the wrong.

I think because unfortunately this extends beyond fandom and more into the realm of (a) zealotry, (b) fan-craze / simping / lusting, and/or ( c) Astroturfing bot networks intended to amplify support and suppress dissent. People like Piker are useful to certain groups to advance their own agenda. No different than the likes of Charlie Kirk or Tucker Carlosn or Asmongold, just for different people.

If you’re in one of these groups, then ceding any ground whatsoever is a non-starter.

Perhaps there’s an intersection between several of those elements. There certainly seems to be some level of ideological capture going on, and, I’d argue, some cult of personality elements to it as well.

I’ll admit, I’m not as versed in the political aspects of it all. I’m not entirely sure who supports which groups and what exactly each of their stated or unstated goals are, but it seems clear to me that there’s some level of intentional narrative being spun and manipulated, even if I don’t know by who or for what. It’s just too aggressively managed and curated to not be entirely intentional.

Maybe I’ll have to look more into it at some point.

Charlie Kirk and Tucker Carlson both so seem to have/had people they are/were beholden to, but I’m also certain they mostly do what they do to further their own wealth and influence.

Asmongold I’m only peripherally knowledgeable of, but he just seems like he’s bottoms-upped whatever isolationist and xenophobic koolaid he found.

I know he was a game streamer originally but it seems like he’s well into far-right political ideology now, is that right?

If you care about politics, you should care about Dan Saltman.

                  https://reversecanarymission.org/person/dan-saltman

Dan Saltman is a tech entrepreneur and political podcaster who leverages his platform to advance Zionist interests, targeting pro-Palestine voices and justifying Israel’s ongoing settler-colonial project in occupied Palestine.

As founder of TinyChat — a video chat platform acquired in 2014 after receiving $1.5 million in funding from Sean “Diddy” Combs, amid allegations of its use in predatory behavior — Saltman built his career in online communications. He now serves as CEO of Redact.dev, a service that deletes users’ digital footprints, which he promotes amid his own involvement in online activism. Saltman co-hosts the “Anything Else” podcast with Steven Bonnell II (Destiny), where he discusses politics and amplifies pro-Israel views to Western audiences.

Saltman has repeatedly portrayed pro-Palestine advocacy as support for terrorism, directly accusing streamer Hasan Piker of promoting “terrorist propaganda” and “Hamas recruitment videos.” In September 2025, he endorsed calls to ban Piker from Twitch, claiming Piker’s content encourages violence and supports terrorist organizations, while framing criticism of Israel as antisemitism. This rhetoric dehumanizes Palestinians by equating their resistance to Israel’s occupation with inherent threats, perpetuating consent for settler violence.

Saltman orchestrated a widespread disinformation campaign against Twitch, accusing the platform of fostering antisemitism by allowing pro-Palestine speech. He mobilized supporters to pressure advertisers, leading to temporary pauses in spending by companies like JPMorgan and AT&T in late 2024. This effort aimed to suppress voices critical of Israel’s actions in Gaza, where the confirmed death toll exceeds 40,000 — a conservative estimate, as Israel’s destruction of infrastructure and targeting of journalists has halted accurate counting, with the actual number slaughtered well into the hundreds of thousands. Saltman’s actions align with broader Zionist efforts to weaponize antisemitism accusations against dissent, shielding Israel from scrutiny over its apartheid policies and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and Gaza.

His associations extend to content creators like Ethan and Hila Klein of the H3 Podcast and Destiny’s community, with whom he has collaborated on attacks against Piker, viewing him as a threat due to his effective advocacy for Palestinian liberation. Saltman’s push to repeal Section 230 appears motivated by a desire to further censor online criticism of Israel. Twitch banned him indefinitely in November 2024 for “extreme harassment,” including doxxing and targeting employees who refused to comply with his demands.

This pattern of behavior is not isolated but part of a consistent effort to normalize Israel’s settler-colonialism, obscure Palestinian suffering under occupation and genocide, and manufacture public consent for ongoing violence.

Why did you give the link and then copy the whole contents as well? That seems very redundant.

I don’t see how Sam Altman is relevant to any evidence I’ve brought fourth - I didn’t use him as a base for any of my evidence, nor reference them in any claims. Can you tell me how he’s relevant to the subject at hand? (Hasan Piker)

Firstly: I don’t really see how Hasan Piker having history with other streamers is relevant to anything I am writing about?

Can you clarify what you’re getting at, and how Hasan Piker having history with other online personalities invalidates anything I have written, all of which ostensibly does not seem to have anything to do with that?

And secondly: Can you tell me how I am arguing in “bad faith” (i.e. NOT arguing from a genuine examination of the issue), when I tend to give evidence for my case, clearly referencing actual research done, rather than just repeating something I’ve been told (without evidence)? Quick clarification: that last part is not an accusation that you are just repeating something you’ve been told - I have no proof of that and I am still hoping that you show anything you have to actually back up your beliefs.

I really don’t mean to be offensive or mean, but I think if have the option to take a moment to re-read some of the messages and look up the definition of “bad faith” arguments you are likely to see that either; A: I have in fact been arguing in good faith, and/or B: You might not have been entirely aware what it means to argue in “Bad Faith”.

                  Thank you for the links.

For the first link: I don’t see the relevance. It talks about starting a rumor, but I do not reference any rumoring in my posts. I reference try my best to reference things with factual evidence backing it up. Can you help clarify how it is relevant? - I already know Hasan Piker is divisive he’s seen as a boogeyman to some and a savior to others, and this just seems to reinforce that, but nothing else.

For the second link: What part was the relevant one? - The part where they briefly talk about the shock collar issue, but doesn’t actually address any evidence for or against? I’ll be honest, I don’t really see the relevance for the rest. It just seems to be a negatively slanted video about Destiny and Sam Altman, which isn’t really relevant to what Hasan has or has not actually done.

On an interesting but separate note, I find the editing of this video interestingly similar to the CNN video that cause Hasan Piker to sue Scott Jennings - I truly feels like the editing of some of the video-clips they use are pushing a very clear narrative, but one that doesn’t seem to be supported by the clips they use, or at least wouldn’t be if the full clip was shown. That said, I am not familiar with the original clips or particularly familiar with the people in question, so I can’t speak to anything other than the video-making style used for the video, which is something I am familiar with, as I have worked with storytelling in editing via my profession.

No worries. Happy to help. If you’re still interested I encourage you to do your own research and not take my word for it. Just be aware that he is both is both a republican boogeyman, and simultaneously, has a bit of a cult of personality built up around him on the other end of the spectrum, so nuanced takes are hard to come by.

The topic is “Scott Jennings made up a story about Hasan, fabricated evidence, and then presented that false evidence and is now being sued for slander”

It doesn’t matter how you feel about the victim. It doesn’t matter what other things the victim did. All of that is completely irrelevant. What is relevant is that Scott Jennings made up a story, fabricated evidence, and presented it on tv as fact. Scott should lose his job and this lawsuit, and he can never be allowed to work in journalism again.

On the matter of nepotism, his uncle is Cenk Uygur who is the co-creator of The Young Turks (a progressive news show). Hasan acknowledges that he benefited from nepotism to launch his career as a political commentator since he got his start working for The Young Turks with his uncle. It’s not like he hides it or presents himself as “self-made” or any other bullshit like that, so I don’t really have a problem with it either.

I do see a problem with dumb people following rich people, which is why I’m a socialist. I don’t see Hasan as a leader, I see him as a comrade. Socialism is not a poverty cult, the rich can be class traitors too and it matters where their money came from and if they’re honest about it. Hasan also puts his money where his mouth is, donating to campaigns, mobilizing his audience to campaign, funding and fundraising for causes like the PCRF, and delivering aid to and platforming Cubans suffering under US sanctions. Anyone who consistently delivers materially to the working class deserves the benefit of the doubt.

He’s a leftist political streamer on twitch. He has been at it for many years now, and has recently been the target of many a smear campaign by conservative (and lots of liberal) media, especially after he campaigned with some leftist candidates throughout the United States in the recent primaries. Including Mamdani, and Abdul El-Sayed to name a couple. He comes off a bit like a dude bro, and has said provocative things. But personally I think he has lots of fantastic takes.

Like I don’t have any particular interest, love or hate for Piker. I haven’t ever watched more than a few clips of him. But he does matter, both as a person and a political influencer. And your question is bullshit elitism. Saying “Why does anyone give a shit about <blank>?” and then filling that blank with any type of person you find frivolous, not for the content of their character or their opinions voiced, but for something like their chosen job or hobby, is fucking dumb. Particularly in relation to a politically active person in what is ostensibly a democracy. Everyone matters in a democracy. That is the actual point.

You may as well have said, “Why does anyone give a shit about a janitor?” Well if that janitor has a lot of political influence, good or bad, you should give a shit. What the fuck does it matter if he is a janitor, a twitch streamer, or any other role? If they are talking and people are listening and it is effecting people’s political insights and mindset and vote, it doesn’t matter what they do for work or how they got their audience. It matters that others are listening. You don’t have to pay him any mind or grant his opinions any credence or like him or hate him or feel anything at all about him to acknowledge that he objectively does matter to the political sphere.

Whenever you are using what someone is “known for’ as your criticism, you lose legitimacy to your argument. See, Scott Jennings intentionally tried to make Piker “known for” lynchings. The “known for” something critique is a Trump style attack…” Everybody is talking about how Obama was born in Africa. Sounds like we shouldn’t trust that guy.". It’s lazy and malicious.

If you want to criticize Piker, do so for demonstrable conduct. All you did instead was signal to me your argument is bs.

It is so weird that you are pretending he’s just some random nobody, but then seem to get really defensive about his politics and the amount of clout he seems to have with said politics.

Like, you don’t have to post here if you don’t really care about him. But, the fact that you keep posting seems to imply that you absolutely do care about him. Idk, man, that combined with your stance of how great centrism is, it looks like you want to look nonchalant about him without having to defend why you don’t like him (or more likely, his politics.)

I dig Maggoty but yeah, it’s super weird. Extremely Reddit-brained take, like when a beloved rapper or something dies, coming in to say “I don’t know who that is”

Like okay that’s cool, you’re on the internet and can find out easily.

I have no interest in US politics or streamers, but I recognize this is way bigger than “stream guy talk about politic” at this point. Cumfart is being foolish thinking “just a streamer” isn’t a big deal anymore. We’re not far from a president who was a streamer, whether we like it or don’t wanna live on this planet anymore.

Trying to suggest that streamers aren’t influential in current year requires you to either live under a rock or be above the age of 60. It’s like trying to suggest that YouTubers aren’t influential in 2010.

Streamers are influential. Having 40k concurrent viewers is insane, and the actual metrics behind just how insane it is ends up being pretty difficult to parse without having someone else do the analytics for you.

Last time I checked the average time a viewer actually stays in a stream ends up being a few minutes. That also heavily depends on the streamer and what kind of content they produce. Hasan pulling tens of thousands of concurrent viewers is nuts and places him in the upper echelons of the top 1% of streamers on twitch.

It’s like trying to say that Assmoldbald isn’t influential. You are just wrong, even if you hate having to admit it.

Edit: I should say, I think Hasan is peak dudebro energy and routinely shoves his foot in his mouth. That being said, the man is influential - for better or worse.

Hasan backed candidates have basically wiped the floor throughout both the Democratic primaries and now general elections. As people have recognized the failures of both centrism and bipartisanship, explicitly socialist views expressed through a relatable, non academic, non corporate views have real purchase. Expect them to continue to grow into a household name. You better get comfortable in this new reality.

Also you seem to be ignoring the answer to this question you were already given, deliberately i have to imagine. Hasan gets views, gets attention. Views and attention are power, they’re influence. If Hasan has 100k viewers that’s 100k potential votes for a candidate.

What are you not understanding about that? It seems really straightforward that views and influence = power.

He’s been a political commentator even before he became a streamer. He probably still reacts to content on the account that political commentary largely depends on reacting to interviews, news clips, articles etc. I’m sure he probably does non-political reactions, such as the recent H3H3 implosion, but as with political commentary he adds a lot of commentary ontop the content. There was even a viral clip of casuallyexplained calling out Hasan for constantly pausing videos to add his own commentary.

The idea that he mostly stole content from others is one of the multitude of lies his haters have told over the years. He’s a far cry from the react streamers who consume content in its entirety and add only “uh-uh, yeah, right.”

All I’ve seen from him is watching a video and offering nothing but the occasional laugh, then rushing to stop it before any self promotion from the creator can play.

He has something like over 20 000 hours streamed. I’m sure you’re going to run into that as well, but if that’s all you’ve ever seen… I guess you must be the worlds unluckiest viewer to always find him doing just that.

I mean you can literally open his stream right at this very moment, he’s not just sitting there “reacting” like a houseplant. He’s not even watching a video others made.

That’s your opinion mang thats fine. And just like the failure of the Biden administration to do anything to stop a genocide , you can choose to see or not see whatever you like.

Hasan is a political commentator who reads and responds to the news outloud. And they do it in a way which most people under the age of 40 would do it, in a mocking, casual sometimes cynical view. And people can relate to that; they aren’t just reenforcing establishment views.

Here’s what its going to come down to: Hasan picked the winners. The canddiates they endorsed and supported, they made it through their primaries, and after making it through the primaries, they are winning their elections. They are more ideologically similar to Hasan and most of the people here, than you or other centrist/ rightwing politics. But more importantly, they picked winners, and supported them early when early support makes the difference. That makes them a king maker.

Lemmy hates centrists but we’re a better representation of the majority of the voters.

            How’s the genocides doing now?

I know Biden supported Ukraine much more and I’m also thinking there was a reason why that cunt Netanyahu wanted Biden gone and Trump in.

I mean no you are not. Centrism has lost every election where its been tried. You don’t represent anyone. Socialism/ Social Democracy is far more popular with voters.

              How’s the genocides doing now?

Its your genocide bruh, you own it, so you tell me.

Registered voters are abandoning bOtH pArTiEs, now down to 28% each; independents are up to 44% of voters. That’s gone up like 5% since Biden was in office, mang

It’s worked well when the candidates hasn’t been women because America, the democrats and leftists seem to have a big problem with women in power.

Actually, that’s true. Hasan is by far the most useful streamer in the history of grifting. Except maybe for Destiny, who created him. I hope he wins this lawsuit.

Jennings later accused Piker of “calling for Black voters to be lynched” and referred to what he called “the Piker plan of returning our country to lynchings.”

The original footage came from an October 2024 Twitch broadcast in which Piker was reacting to a debate between two Black political commentators — one liberal and one conservative. After the conservative participant criticized “woke DAs,” Piker sarcastically suggested the commentator wanted to return to an era of racial discrimination and lynchings, according to the complaint.

“He said, ‘We need more Klansmen, OK? Can we go back to a better time when lynchings were happening?’” Piker said during the stream in reaction to the commentator’s argument.

Piker’s attorneys argue that the edited video removed the words “He said,” along with his laughter and surrounding commentary, to intentionally make it appear as though Piker was expressing his own beliefs rather than mocking someone else’s.

The dispute emerged amid the Michigan Senate race, where the edited video was circulated to criticize progressive Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed over his association with Piker.

Seems like Scott Jennings is going to get nailed to the wall for that, it’s pretty indefensible.

Or, I should say, CNN will. Or, I should say, Skydance will. Or, I should say, David Ellison will. Or, I should say, Larry Ellison('s pocketbook) will.

That doesn’t actually sound a ton different than literally any attack ad airing for any candidate at the moment.

If hope both parties lose this one, with a long trial for a one dollar verdict.

Neither person in this lawsuit is a political candidate. There are different rules for political ads than for what you can just say on TV about a public person.

Piker makes all his income by being popular and from his public image. If what Scott Jennings lied about causes, or may cause, Piker to lose income (by losing stream views because people now think he’s a racist), he has a right to sue Jennings for causing that to happen.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

And I’m feeling strong that my read on him is that under no circumstance is he gonna settle for a sum that is less than actual, meaningful, blood.

Or let Scott chicken out and pay him the full $72mil

Looks like Piker is getting a new gamer chair and a home gym made entirely out of gold. Ethically sourced, obviously.
